Creating a safe learning environment is the first step toward student success. For most students, this is good enough. For other students, an extra step will need to be taken to give them an extra sense of belonging and safety. We will create sensory bottles tailored to student interests to keep in my Calm Down Corner for times when students are needing a minute to themselves to get back on track with academic focus taking place in the classroom. I am also requesting STEM kits that can be used as quick breaks, rewards, or extension activities to keep students engaged in learning while in or out of the Calm Down Corner. College begins in Kindergarten! At our school, we promote graduation and moving on to higher learning if so desired. As a tradition, Kindergarten puts on a graduation ceremony to celebrate the learning taken place and what is yet to come! I will need use the bluetooth speaker to help showcase our young graduates in a performance not to be forgotten.
