Since receiving the 50mm lenses, we have already seen a meaningful difference in how students learn and create. These lenses have helped students move beyond basic kit equipment and explore more intentional, expressive photography. They are better able to understand depth of field, composition, and how to create portraits that capture real emotion—an especially important skill in a small community where personal connection matters so much.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting for students is the ability to produce professional-looking portrait work with greater clarity and creative control. Many students who were initially quiet or unsure of their abilities have especially connected with this new tool. I have seen students who previously struggled with confidence become more engaged as they see immediate improvement in their images and begin to take pride in their work.\r\n\r\nIn a time when many students are navigating significant emotional challenges, photography has become a way for them to express what words often cannot. Your support has given them not just better tools, but a stronger sense of purpose and connection through their art. We are truly grateful for your impact on their learning and well-being.","fullyFundedDate":1614811727724,"projectUrl":"project/the-nifty-fifty-is-the-best-prime-lens-f/5393391/","projectTitle":"The Nifty-Fifty is the Best Prime Lens for Beginning Photographers","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Scoubes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5029543_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1512764528878","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5029543"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_96573","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1600,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":29,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":83,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"10 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.2,"schoolId":96573,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Salem Hills High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Salem Hills High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/nebo-school-district/salem-hills-high-school/96573"}
