The Jenga-style blocks and buzzer system you funded have already transformed the way we learn together.\r\n\r\nAt the very start of the year, we used the buzzers to play math games and review classroom rules. The joy on my students' faces when they heard their buzzer light up was priceless—they were laughing, learning, and cheering each other on while mastering important skills. The buzzers have also turned everyday lessons into fun competitions, making review sessions feel more like Jeopardy than a quiz.\r\n\r\nThe colorful Jenga blocks have been a perfect tool for building teamwork. My students have used them in strategy games that required cooperation and critical thinking. I loved watching them lean in together, whisper strategies, and celebrate each other's successes. In the spring, the blocks will play a starring role in our Cursive Club, where handwriting practice will become an interactive, hands-on challenge. I know this will keep students motivated and eager to learn.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has already helped create a welcoming, engaging classroom community. More importantly, it has shown my students that there are people beyond our school walls who believe in their potential. That message is one I know will stay with them long after the games are put away.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts—thank you for lighting up our learning.","fullyFundedDate":1751209997528,"projectUrl":"project/educational-games-worth-buzzin-about/9292524/","projectTitle":"Educational Games Worth Buzzin' About!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Routledge","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5933843_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1539742015720","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-routledge"},{"teacherId":1849856,"projectId":8978099,"letterContent":"My students and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness in donating the items from this project! When the items arrived I unpacked them and put them on the carpet of our classroom so the students could see them when they arrived the next day. They were so excited to see all the snacks, markers, glue sticks, pencils and erasers! They all wanted a new pencil and eraser to do their school work that day but first we talked about the kindness of people that donated these items for our class to enjoy. Then we got to work finishing assignments with their new pencils, erasers and glue sticks.\r\n\r\nAt lunch, I put the markers in the caddies and later that day when we read our chapter book they were so quiet while they were creating and coloring on some paper as I read aloud. We did this for many days. The pictures that you see are from an assignment given to draw a picture of something that they remembered learning in science this past school year. They were so excited to lay on the floor and draw animals, rainbows (from our light and sound unit) and many other items that they came up with from their imaginations.\r\n\r\nThey were able to choose from the assortment of snacks that were donated and everybody was able to eat something they wanted. They decided because we had so many snacks left by the last week of school that they would like to share some snacks with their friends in the other first grade class so, many students were able to enjoy the kindness of our wonderful donors!\r\n\r\nI was able to use the lamination sleeves to laminate a Summer Bingo game for the students to play on the last few days of school and they were having fun looking for items and marking them on their bingo board. I can now use this resource for several years because it's laminated for durability.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness and generosity in helping not only the students in my classroom but another one as well.","fullyFundedDate":1743177817438,"projectUrl":"project/please-dont-eat-your-classmates/8978099/","projectTitle":"Please Don't Eat Your Classmates!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Watts","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1849856_orig.jpg?crop=1261,1261,x97,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1642617796807","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/vangee-watts"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_33214","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":433,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":19,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":82,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":82.7,"schoolId":33214,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Viewmont Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Viewmont Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/murray-city-school-district/viewmont-elementary-school/33214"}
