My goal this year is to help my students feel safe, cared for, and ready to learn. Research has shown me that one way to do this is to make my seating less rigid...more flexible. Flexible seating will allow my diverse learners to choose their best learning environment. Wobble balls will allow my more squirmy kids a seat that let's love move while remaining at their work station. I am asking for six ball chairs. Also, since many students prefer to be on the floor, the six requested soft seat cushions and lap desks might feel just right for these kids. And two bean bag chairs are perfect for a cozy reading corner. Adding these options to the standing desks, large pillows, and small rocker chairs, that I have already purchased on my own, will help give my students many options to choose from. Then I can help them learn what works best for them, so they can choose wisely and have to freedom to learn in the space that suits them most.
