These games, books, and incentives will provide fun, engaging ways for my students to learn and practice their basic phonics skills. Many of our students, especially our 2nd graders, have been highly impacted by the disruption of their schooling and are missing the foundational skills necessary to become fluent readers. Students receiving intervention need more time to learn the basic skills that will help them become successful learners. Having a variety of ways to practice ensures that students can learn without getting bored. Incentives for students who work hard and make progress is an essential piece to developing life-long learners.
