It provides engaging materials that aline with our Science and Social Studies core standards. We can access both print and digital copies of the main text. There is a video that shares more information about the topic, brain breaks and class games that integrate math and phonics concepts. Additionally, there are materials provided for differentiation and enrichment. \r\n\r\nAnother donation impact was the chair seat covers. Students can easily access their white boards and magnetic letter boards for phonics instruction. We have more time to practice spelling words because students can access the materials quickly. They have been exploring and practicing foundational mathematics, especially counting with one-to-one correspondence and writing numbers from 1-10. They are really liking the manipulatives that our district purchased, as we have transitioned to the Open-Up Resource math manipulatives as part of our district math adoption. These manipulatives are helping young learners explore and practice foundational mathematics.\r\n\r\nHowever, students need to be able to access their math materials during center time quickly and put their materials away in sturdy, child-friendly containers, so they can be used in later lessons and by subsequent years of students.\r\n\r\nBy having their math manipulative materials labeled with color dot stickers in plastic pouches and containers, which are being stored in the milk crates, our students have what they need to learn. \r\n\r\nThe pictures show that students were making number towers to physically see that as they count from 1 to 10, the next number in the counting sequence actually goes up by one. \"It's a stairs,\" one student announced, after they had built their first four towers. It took a lot of blocks for 23 students to make their own ten towers at the same time. \r\n\r\nHaving organizational tools enables students to do the work and discover for themselves mathematical principles like these. We learned about Yayoi Kasuma and used the markers to decorate pumpkins with polka dots! As we have learned about fall and the the changes in the leaves, they have made beautiful leaves to decorate our classroom. We also learned about pointillism and George Seurat's impact on the art community. They loved doing the diamond art to represent those dots in his paintings. By incorporating technology, students can independently navigate audiobooks, which enhances their listening comprehension and vocabulary skills. This interactive form of learning allows students to engage with stories at their own pace, providing them the autonomy to revisit parts of the audio as needed. The technology also supports differentiated instruction by offering a range of materials appropriate for various reading levels, ensuring that all students are challenged yet capable of success.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting aspects for the students is the interactive elements that accompany the audio content, such as quizzes and visual aids, which make the stories come to life. This innovation sparks excitement and keeps students motivated. I've noticed a particular student, who previously struggled with traditional reading, has shown remarkable enthusiasm and progress with the listening center. The ability to listen and interact with stories has boosted their confidence and fostered a newfound love for reading. This technology has not only supported their academic growth but has also nurtured their emotional connection to learning.","fullyFundedDate":1723644474169,"projectUrl":"project/listening-center-in-planet-kindergarten/8486934/","projectTitle":"Listening Center in Planet Kindergarten","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rivera","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3842511_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1548815491230","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/heidi-rivera"},{"teacherId":6230473,"projectId":8666376,"letterContent":"Oh, how we love our clay, oil pastels, watercolors and supplies!
