Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed a difference in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. If a student is comfortable they are able to focus more on the content that is being taught. The seats that I chose add cushion to the hard chairs we have and also allow student the ability to wiggle as the participate in the intervention. Many students are behind in their foundational reading skills due to the disruptions of learning of COVID-19. We had purchased an intervention program to help student catch up on these skill. However, students need materials to practice the skills that they have learned. The whiteboards, markers, and sheet protectors are materials students need to use during these lessons. I have seen how having choice and the necessary materials affect my students learning. I hope with the additional options and needed materials will help us grow even more!
