These signs have been laminated to be enjoyed for years to come. \r\n\r\nWe also used some of the construction paper as part of our books with no words lesson. It's been especially helpful for students who benefit from hands-on learning and immediate feedback. Students handwriting is greatly improved with the lined white boards. The pocket charts have helped us organize vocabulary and schedules, making it easier for all students to follow along and stay engaged. \r\n\r\nNow that these resources are part of our classroom, our next steps include expanding our independent reading time and incorporating more group storytelling activities. The students were sleepy as could be when they showed up to school, so we pulled out the last game we hadn't played yet - Frankenmonster. It was a hit! Immediately, the entire class was awake, everyone was engaged, talkative, and being creative. \r\n\r\nAs a teacher, it's always exciting to watch students learn when they don't know it's happening. In this game in particular there is a critic that has to judge the other student's monsters and award points. This could go one of two ways, and I was thrilled to walk around the room hearing things like \"I really like your dinosaur tail, but he added spikes to his so I'm giving him the points.\" Or, \"Your fangs look so cool, will you show me how to draw them?\" Students were being positive, helpful, and they were giggling with each other instead of at each other. It made for a wonderful conversation with them at the end of class! Thank you for providing us with these games! The modeling clay has supported students in visualizing concepts and building fine-motor skills, while the Legos and STEAM blocks have become tools for engineering challenges, collaborative design, and imaginative storytelling. Even the simple file folders have been turned into canvases for mixed-media art, character creations, and project-based learning extensions.\r\n\r\nBy incorporating these materials into our daily lessons, students are able to connect academic standards with artistic processes in more authentic and engaging ways. I am grateful for you because you will increase my students learning and confidence. My students are really excited to use the technology provided by the Scarlett Audio Interface. I ordered a nice set of microphones to use with the system to get quality recordings. Those microphones were back ordered for nearly 3 months. They arrived this month and I installed the whole system in my classroom last week. The students quickly noticed the new system when they entered my room and started asking questions about when we get to start recording. I told them that we will start using it in band over the next two weeks and definitely for our concert that is the second week of December. My students and I are really excited to use this system to enhance the student's learning in my classroom. I love to see the excitement and curiosity in my students. Once the box of supplies showed up, students who had used them before weren't even willing to finish the projects we were in the middle of because they were so eager to get their hands on them! I had to rearrange several lesson plans so that everyone had a chance with them. I think a fan favorite was the 6th graders synth wave art that I included pictures of. They were so proud of themselves, and it's on the bucket list for the younger grades for when they get older.\r\n\r\nThe daubers also helped our 3rd graders out of their comfort zone. Most students are used to working on the traditional 8.5x11 size paper, but with those new daubers, we decided to make some poster sized neon versions of our mascot which the students couldn't get enough of. It was a great test of their hand eye coordination on such a large scale. \r\n\r\nThe supply organizer has made a world of difference just in the way our classroom runs. There's a place for sharp and unsharpened pencils so I don't have to listen to the dreaded sharpener during class. There's a place for every extra supply the students need so I don't have to go searching for it in the middle of class. This allows them to solve their own problems, and it's helped our class run so much more efficiently.\r\n\r\nThe spirographs, tempera cakes, and wikki stix have made for wonderful lessons multiple times with multiple grades. I received the microphone cables, trombone slide cleaning snakes, and tuning slide grease right away. I had a chance to go through and clean all the trombone slides with a couple students a few weeks ago on a Friday for my students. The rest of the trombone players noticed and were excited the following Monday when they came back to school and their slides were moving so much better. The tuning slide grease has kept the slides moving on many of the brass instruments keeping them functioning in top shape. These little items really make a big difference and keep our instruments working and out of the shop when we can maintain them correctly.\r\nThe microphones were back ordered for quite some time, but I just received them last week. They were installed on Friday with the microphone cables and connected to my system which will enable me to record the class. I've told my students about the microphones coming and that we will soon be able to record and hear ourselves back in pure sound unlike the cell phone or iPad recordings that I have made. I did a test side by side with the new microphones and my cell phone recording me playing the trumpet. What a difference between the cell phone and microphone recordings. The microphone sound was pure and caught the full sound unlike the cell phone that picks up mostly bright sound.\r\nI can't wait to use the system with my students this coming week as we prepare for our winter concert in just over 4 weeks. Instead of me just telling the students what I hear, they are now going to be able to listen back and critique themselves increasing their musical awareness and abilities.","fullyFundedDate":1755728632431,"projectUrl":"project/play-it-back-play-it-better/9575003/","projectTitle":"Play It Back, Play It Better","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Blodgett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6628627_orig.jpg?crop=1948,1949,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651380198433","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6628627"},{"teacherId":7960968,"projectId":9495738,"letterContent":"Thank you for contributing to this amazing learning opportunity!
