Your gift put different sizes of rubber recess balls, balance beams, and a wonderful set of art supplies into the hands of our preschoolers—and the impact is already visible.\r\n\r\nHow we're using the new resources\r\n\r\nIndoor obstacle-course recess: We set up beams and ball stations so children can hop, roll, and toss. This routine helps us \"get the wiggles out,\" build core strength and coordination, and practice taking turns and cheering for friends.\r\nA favorite moment: During one of the obstacle course activities, students lined up to try the walking between the beams and other gross motor equipment we have in the classroom.\r\n\r\nWhen they first saw the balls and beams, there were gasps and big smiles. Students gravitated to their favorite colors. They used the ball to practice throwing, rolling, and tossing at the hoop.\r\n\r\nGross motor goals: We'll keep rotating obstacle-course layouts to target balance, jumping, and ball-handling skills, and invite students to be \"course designers\" so they can plan and explain their ideas.\r\n\r\nHealthy habits project: Although we couldn't purchase the storage cart, we used the funds for more art materials to create 3-D models of healthy foods. \r\nLanguage and creativity were woven into our students' work. They were able to build vocabulary, confidence, and pride in their work.\r\nYour generosity brought joy, movement, and creativity into our classroom.
