They are also practicing important skills such as sharing, taking turns, communicating with classmates, problem-solving, and working together.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and helping make our classroom a place where learning can happen through curiosity, creativity, and play. The students noticed the animals and bright leaves right away and couldn't wait to sit on it. Several of them ran their hands across it, commenting on how soft it felt compared to our old rug. Our previous rug had started curling up on the edges, which made it easy to trip over and distracting during group time. This new rug instantly felt safer, more inviting, and truly part of our calm, forest-themed classroom.\r\n\r\nWe now use the rug every day for morning calendar time, read-alouds, social skills lessons, and even free reading and play. The individual leaf spots give students a clear, defined space to sit, which helps them understand personal space and feel secure during whole-group activities. It has become the gathering place for Principal Read-Alouds and shared learning moments. Having a consistent, comfortable space has made transitions smoother and helps create structure for students who rely on predictable routines.\r\n\r\nThe rug has quickly become the heart of our classroom. It supports not just academics, but connection—morning greetings, shared laughter during stories, and practicing important social skills together. As we continue building our classroom community, this space will remain central to our learning and growth. Your generosity has helped create a safer, more welcoming environment where our students can truly thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1763673998652,"projectUrl":"project/a-forest-themed-rug-for-little-learners/9621691/","projectTitle":"A Forest-Themed Rug for Little Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bateman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1752160"},{"teacherId":10210994,"projectId":9768349,"letterContent":"Thank you for making this beautiful project possible. My student completely bought in to the project. They each worked hard to do their part. \r\n\r\nOne of the best things is some of these supplies we can keep for future years. My kids learned about doing their best and pushing themselves. \r\n\r\nOur tree sold for $1400 dollars, not bad for a tree made entirely by kids! I used the new paper storage to sort paper into colors. Each student was able to choose a color for their personal sketchbook covers. My 6th graders also used our new brushes to practice some new watercolor techniques. The paint markers are going to be exciting to use because they aren't a common supply in an elementary classroom. We do have an upcoming project where we will use the paint markers to write and draw on black paper. It is going to look great! And the tagboard is a great resource for upcoming projects where we need a more heavyweight paper.\r\nNow that we are two months into school, my new classroom feels more complete.
