My students were so excited when they saw the package arrive. It's exciting enough when you get a package, but even more so when it's something for the class. \r\n\r\nI happily unboxed the new sharpener and pencils for all the room to see. Now, I don't know if you've ever been in a room full of excited 12 year olds, but it was rambunctious and chaotic to say the least. They were so excited about getting a new pencil sharpener. \r\n\r\nI used to hear students complain multiple times a day what a crappy pencil sharpener we had. Now I don't hear any of it. They're excited that it works so well. I also have an easier time teaching now that we have so many pencils available for students to use. Middle schoolers are notorious for not having a pencil (they somehow magically disappear between classes).
