As a first year teacher in a tough economy, figuring out how to fill my meager library with books was difficult. I want my kids to have options to read and nurture the importance of literacy, to build their confidence and boost them in an era of anti-literacy. I was recommended Donors Choose by one of my cohort members, and when I signed up I never expected to actually receive donations among the sea of stories and requests. My first project fell through, I had aimed too high in too little time. My second project, this one, was a beautiful success.\r\n\r\nThe main request on my list-the Dogman Series-was a personal request because of how much my kids enjoyed it. My one tattered copy I got from a teacher conference was not enough to satisfy the desires of all 25 of my students. Seeing their faces when I presented the 10 book series was so, so special. They deserve to be delighted by the things they read, and you helped that happen.","fullyFundedDate":1764599687667,"projectUrl":"project/ms-ts-good-seeds/9736100/","projectTitle":"Ms. T's Good Seeds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Trotter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10196869_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y342&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755706695569","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10196869"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_98416","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":695,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":55,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":38,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":79.1,"schoolId":98416,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hoyland Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hoyland Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/spring-independent-school-district/hoyland-elementary-school/98416"}
