What began as a simple outdoor space has become another place for them to create, explore, communicate, and learn through play. With chalk in hand, they immediately began drawing pictures, making marks, practicing early writing skills, and proudly sharing their creations with one another.\r\n\r\nOne of the most wonderful things about these chalkboards is that there is no single \"right\" way to use them. For our young learners, a few lines and shapes can become a picture, a story, a letter they recognize, or an idea they cannot wait to share with a friend or teacher. While they believe they are simply having fun, they are also strengthening fine motor skills, building confidence, developing early literacy skills, practicing social skills, and learning to express themselves.\r\n\r\nThe chalkboard flowers will continue to grow alongside our students throughout the school year. As they learn new letters, numbers, shapes, concepts, and skills in their classrooms, we can extend that learning outdoors through playful, hands-on experiences. They will also have opportunities to use the boards simply to imagine and create, which is something we believe is just as important in early childhood.\r\n\r\nThe photos I am sharing capture just a glimpse of the joy your generosity has brought to our students.
