The event ran flawlessly, and we had 100% engagement from our primary students! Seeing every student actively participating, asking questions, experimenting, and discovering was exactly what we hoped this program could accomplish.\r\nOur high school SUPER Scientists were just as excited. Having access to new supplies and activities gave them the opportunity to lead meaningful, hands-on science experiences while making some truly amazing connections with the younger students; connections that extended far beyond the classroom. Watching our high school students step into the roles of teachers, mentors, and role models was one of the most rewarding parts of the entire experience.\r\nThe impact continued even after the Expo ended. Colleagues from other departments told me that their children came home from school and talked about the SUPER Scientist Expo all night! One of our high school students even shared that, the following week, a younger student recognized them at the grocery store from the Expo. They were thrilled and said they felt like a celebrity! Moments like that show just how powerful this experience was for students on both sides.\r\nAnd the excitement is growing! We already had an intermediate school scheduled for our next visit, and we have now added a third school that has asked us to bring the SUPER Scientist experience to their students as well. What began as an idea is quickly becoming something that has the potential to reach students across our community.\r\nI hope you enjoy the pictures I am including and that they allow you to see some of the inspiration, excitement, mentorship, and love of science that your generosity helped make possible.\r\nSCUC Education Foundation, thank you again for believing in this program and supporting our students. Your generosity did much more than purchase science supplies, it created opportunities for students to explore, lead, mentor, connect, and see themselves as scientists. Because of your donation, our students now have access to an incredible new resource that will help them experience Physics in a new way.\r\nWe have already put these fantastic new materials to work. Recently, we used them during our Kinematics lab, where they have to solve for the launch velocity of the launcher three different ways. \r\nPrior to having these resources, we used spring launchers, but over time the springs wear out and are inconsistent. The air pressure launcher you purchased for us gives us repeatable trials to test our data. Now, my students can directly interact with physics in real time. They were able to collect accurate, hands-on data, discuss unexpected results, and troubleshoot hypotheses together. The collaboration and critical thinking in the room reached a whole new level.\r\nYour investment in our classroom continues to pay off as we move forward into our upcoming lessons. Next month, we'll take what we've learned and apply it to Forces and Energy. The launchers will give us a measurable force and kinetic energy to study during these units. These materials will remain a cornerstone of our curriculum for years to come, inspiring not just this year's class, but future classes as well.\r\nThank you again for giving my students the opportunity to explore, discover, and fall in love with physics through hands-on learning.
