The headphones and microphones have been a game changer, providing reliable, high-quality tools that help students focus during assessments and classwork, especially those using accommodations like text-to-speech and speech-to-text. Now, every student can learn with confidence and without disruption. The organizer rolling carts have brought a whole new level of structure and efficiency to our daily routines. Instead of wasting time searching for journals or supplies, students know exactly where to find what they need, allowing us to start class promptly and stay on track. Lastly, the document camera has been an incredible teaching tool. It allows me to model writing, grammar, note-taking, and reading strategies in real time, making lessons more visual, engaging, and accessible for everyone. Your support didn't just bring in materials, it transformed our learning environment into a more organized, inclusive, and empowering space. The moment the bench arrived, my students were buzzing with excitement. It has quickly become the spot everyone wants to sit in when it's time for independent or partner reading.\r\n\r\nHaving a special place just for reading has truly transformed our classroom. My students are more motivated to dive into their books, and I've noticed them reading for longer periods of time without distraction. Some of my reluctant readers, who used to fidget or avoid reading altogether, now ask, \"Can I read on the bench today?\" It's given them a sense of ownership and pride in their reading time.\r\n\r\nThis bench is more than just a piece of furniture—it's a little corner of comfort and inspiration that encourages my students to fall in love with reading. Your support has made a real and immediate impact on our students' learning experiences.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting outcomes of your generosity is the joy and creativity we're seeing during our STEM sessions. Our students absolutely love building and designing with Magna-Tiles, blocks, LEGOs, and other hands-on materials. These tools have not only sparked their imagination but have also encouraged problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking in ways that truly bring STEM to life.\r\n\r\nIt's incredible to watch their ideas take shape—from intricate structures to inventive creations—and to see how these experiences build confidence and a deeper interest in science, engineering, and technology.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping us create a space where curiosity and innovation can thrive. Many of the titles include multi-cultural topics that are covered in our reading classroom. These books will serve as an extension for student learning about these topics. For example, we have a unit about Early American Civilizations where we learn about Aztec, Mayan, and Incan civilizations. A few of the books that you provided for our classroom include myths and legends from these civilizations. \r\n\r\nOther books included are titles such as \"Dog Man\" and \"Goosebumps\". Books such as these are very sought after in my 5th grade classroom. I really believe that students who have a choice when picking independent reading books that are appealing to them will continue to nurture their love for reading as the years go by. In my class, students are eager to finish their assignments so that they can get free time to read their choice of books. \r\n\r\nI have also noticed that the students who only speak Spanish have enjoyed the bilingual books that arrived. They are eager to talk to me about the books they are reading and I am so very happy to be able to share my love of reading with my students.","fullyFundedDate":1744225127420,"projectUrl":"project/books-to-foster-love-of-reading/9138914/","projectTitle":"Books to Foster Love of Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pineda","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4079076_orig.jpg?crop=360,360,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1650294316560","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4079076"},{"teacherId":9098857,"projectId":9139227,"letterContent":"I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your support in providing headphones for my classroom. Thanks to your generosity, my students have truly soared in both reading and social studies this year!\r\n\r\nThe headphones have transformed the way my students learn. In reading, they've been able to fully engage with individualized programs, audiobooks, and interactive lessons without distractions, allowing them to build fluency, comprehension, and confidence at their own pace. In social studies, they've explored virtual field trips, listened to primary sources, and participated in collaborative projects that brought history and culture to life in ways we couldn't have imagined before.\r\n\r\nThese headphones have created a more focused and immersive learning environment, and I've seen firsthand how they've helped students stay engaged, motivated, and eager to learn.\r\n\r\nBut the impact doesn't stop this year. Thanks to your kindness, we received essential supplies including scissors, markers, a class sharpener, and laminating pouches—items that may seem simple, but make a world of difference in our daily learning.\r\n\r\nThese supplies have already had a significant impact. Our students have been busy using the markers and scissors to create colorful, engaging posters that showcase their learning across subjects—from science projects such as animal habitats to historical timelines during our World War II unit in reading. The laminating pouches have helped preserve student work, making it easy for us to build lasting classroom displays and learning tools that we can use again and again. The class sharpener has been a game changer—keeping our pencils ready for action and our learning time uninterrupted.\r\n\r\nYour donation has helped us foster creativity, organization, and pride in our work. Most importantly, you've shown our students that there are people who believe in them and are willing to invest in their success. From kindergarteners planting tiny seeds to fifth graders measuring data, this shared project has brought together students of all ages. The excitement is contagious, and it has been wonderful to see the older students helping the younger ones and everyone cheering as new sprouts emerge.\r\n\r\nWhen our students first saw the garden materials, their faces lit up with joy. They quickly planned what to plant, taking ownership of their garden spaces. Our next steps include a hands-on science lesson where students will learn about plant life cycles, and how compost works.
