In a fast-paced, performance-based classroom, being able to print music, worksheets, and important documents on the spot has eliminated many delays and kept rehearsals running smoothly. Instead of losing time looking for copies or asking my band teacher partner to run copies, I can now meet student needs in real time. This supports learning and keeps everyone engaged.\r\n\r\nWhat's most exciting to the students is how quickly they can get what they need including new music, warm-ups, and parent letters. They do not have to wait or miss part of rehearsal. It's helped reinforce their sense of preparedness and responsibility. We have a few students that come in after school that often find music online that they would like to learn. Instead of reading it on their phones, they can simply email it to the band directors and have it printed. They learn faster, have the ability to write on the music, and can share copies with their friends. This project hasn't just improved logistics. It has removed a barrier to student success.","fullyFundedDate":1758987010307,"projectUrl":"project/from-sheet-to-street-print-the-music-p/9720646/","projectTitle":"From Sheet to Street: Print the Music, Power the Band!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Parker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9406987_orig.jpg?crop=1181,1181,x273,y81&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748319732495","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/dzmsband"},{"teacherId":10000475,"projectId":9669306,"letterContent":"The colorful posters and snacks are a win! I want to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your generous support of my DonorsChoose project. Because of your kindness, my classroom received essential supplies that have truly transformed our learning environment.\r\nSince receiving the materials, I've seen a remarkable impact on my students. The snacks you provided have not only nourished their bodies but also boosted their motivation and participation in class activities. Additionally, the increased engagement has led to more students attending tutoring sessions, eager to learn and improve.\r\nYour contribution has helped create a positive and encouraging space where my students feel valued and inspired to succeed. With your help, we restocked critical instrument care supplies like valve oils, slide greases, and reeds. Many of these items are shared or rationed in our band hall, so supplies ran low many times throughout the year. We have begun to see the impact of your contributions on students already this summer! The students that are showing up weekly to practice in the band have had their instruments cared for. This peace of mind allows students to be fully equipped to learn comfortably!\r\n\r\nThese resources have not only improved instrument functionality but have allowed us to shift the focus of our summer work from troubleshooting to preparing learning spaces and curriculum. We are currently planning an instrument maintenance unit during the first weeks of school. The supplies that you donated will allow for seamless instruction as each student will have the necessary supplies and be able to work along with the instruction. By removing this barrier, you've ensured every student in our program has access to meaningful music education and working instruments! As we continue preparing for the upcoming year, we are positive your impact will be felt by every student in the program.","fullyFundedDate":1749090447483,"projectUrl":"project/save-our-brass/9380567/","projectTitle":"Save Our Brass!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Parker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9406987_orig.jpg?crop=1181,1181,x273,y81&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748319732495","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/dzmsband"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_14815","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":846,"numTeachers":64,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":84,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.6,"schoolId":14815,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lorenzo De Zavala Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lorenzo De Zavala Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/irving-independent-school-district/lorenzo-de-zavala-middle-school/14815"}
