Right now, many of our books are stacked in ways that make it harder for students to browse and choose independently. With the new bookshelf, our books will be openly displayed and much easier for students to see, explore, and select. I know my students will be so excited to have a more inviting classroom library where they can find books that interest them.\r\n\r\nThe clipboards will give students the opportunity to choose where they learn best in the room, which is especially important for students who may need movement, flexibility, or a quieter space to focus. The pastel string lights will help bring a sense of calm while still making the room feel warm and welcoming. For some students, access to hygiene essentials and personal care items may not always be consistent at home, and many students may feel embarrassed or uncomfortable asking for help when they need these items.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, my students will now have access to a wellness cart filled with important hygiene and comfort essentials in a safe, discreet, and judgment-free way. Having access to items such as feminine hygiene products, disposable toothbrushes, floss picks, tissues, stain remover wipes, and other personal care products can make a tremendous difference in helping students feel comfortable, confident, and prepared throughout the school day. The last thing a middle school student should have to worry about is whether they have access to basic essentials that help them feel clean, confident, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nMany of my students receive special education support services and benefit greatly from classroom environments that help them feel safe, supported, and cared for.
