In fact, I was encouraged, motivated, and gently pushed into this profession by someone who saw something in me long before I saw it in myself. It was not until I stepped into my own classroom that I realized teaching was not simply a job, but a calling. Over the past 32 years, it has become a part of my heart and identity. I have been blessed to work with principals who recognized my passion for children and supported the work I poured into early childhood education. I truly believed I would finish my career where it began, surrounded by the students and resources I had spent decades building. When I learned I would be moving to a new grade level, it felt as though I was starting over. The years of carefully collected materials, lessons, and treasures that had served my early childhood students so well would no longer meet the needs of my new second graders. As a single teacher facing today's economy, the thought of rebuilding from scratch was overwhelming and frightening, how was I going to scratch the surface of providing for these students at even the bare minimum.\r\nYet through all the uncertainty, one thing never changed: my commitment to my students. I knew these children deserved the same nurturing, engaging, and inspiring learning environment that I had spent years creating for my youngest learners. Taking a chance and asking for help was not easy, but I did it because this was never about me. It was always about my students and giving them the very best. The response was nothing short of humbling. Family members, friends, and generous supporters stepped \r\nforward to help, and the Bezos Family Foundation generously matched those donations. When I shared the news with my new students, their eyes lit up with excitement. In that moment, I was reminded that there are so many people who believe in education, who believe in children, and who understand the difference a caring teacher and a well-equipped classroom can make.\r\nAs I begin this new chapter, I find myself learning right alongside my students. Together, we are building something special in a classroom made possible by the kindness and generosity of people who believe in us. Every time my students use a donated resource, discover a new favorite book, complete a project, or proudly share their accomplishments, they will be benefiting from the support of those who invested in their future. More importantly, they will know that people believed in them before they even realized what they were capable of achieving. As I start over and learn the ins and outs of teaching second grade, I take comfort in knowing that my students and I are on this journey together. Thank you for believing in me, for believing in my students, and for helping create a classroom where children can feel supported, inspired, and loved. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on each and every one of us.","fullyFundedDate":1780284066939,"projectUrl":"project/help-a-veteran-teacher-start-again-from/10303287/","projectTitle":"Help a Veteran Teacher Start Again From Stage One","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lisa Wolff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7813341_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1779462339486","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7813341"},{"teacherId":7832239,"projectId":9994803,"letterContent":"We are incredibly grateful for your generous support of our DonorsChoose project.
