Our school has an abundance of English reading books, but very few Spanish materials. Having more Spanish books in my classroom library will make a difference for my students and help enrich their bi-literacy. Students will also take home the Spanish books to use for their daily reading time. I'm requesting grade level books in Spanish including the Quien fue series, Oh, Cuan Lejos Llegaras! / Oh, the Places You'll Go!, Cayendo hacia arriba, Pink y Say, and Every Thing On It, and A Light in the Attic book and CD. Reading a Spanish book is like taking a journey! Having grade level appropriate and engaging Spanish books will help them improve their reading level in Spanish. The students will form a habit of daily reading in their first or second language. They will also use these books for D.E.A.R. time and writing assignments.
