I explained to my 3rd graders that a very nice person donated materials for us to use in class. There were many questions, and they were eager to use the materials right away. The most used game in our donation is the pop it math game, it is a staple in the stations and every student in my class gets excited when it is their day to get to play. \r\nWe have had the most joy with the planets where every other day during our space unit we have planet theatre. A few of the students stand up and act out what the planets for that day would be doing, while holding the planet plushies you donated. They love the planets and at the end we applaud at the theatre like it was a huge production and the kids are so excited for the next one. It is 5-10 minutes, but it is so much fun! It would not be the same without those plush planets. Thank you!\r\nThere have been so many opportunities to put to good use the stuff that was sent including letting my parents know when something happened in the classroom that deserves a kudos. I use the note cards that were donated to send home those moments, and the students light up when they get one. \r\nWe have not started fractions yet this year but when we do, I know the number stackers will come in handy, not to mention how they help feel the gaps in small group. I can't say thank you enough!
