Growing a community of readers is the focus in my classroom. My goal is to provide students with books that are relevant and appropriate for their diverse lives and reading levels. Fostering a love of reading requires access to high-interest books. Providing students with opportunities to get their hands on as much reading material as possible promotes a love of reading, literacy, and future academic success. Each day, students participate in a reader's workshop that requires them to read a variety of books to develop fluency, literacy, and comprehension skills. With guidance, students will have the ability to choose books that appeal to them from our classroom library.
