In our classroom, students use Chromebooks daily for reading, writing, annotating texts, and completing assignments. The stylus pens allow them to interact with their learning in a much more hands-on way. Instead of just typing, students can now highlight text, annotate passages, draw connections, brainstorm ideas, and show their thinking just like they would on paper — which is especially important in English Language Arts.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students the most is that the stylus gives them more control and confidence when completing their work. Many of my students struggle with organization and writing stamina, and the ability to write directly on their screen, sketch ideas, or visually organize their thoughts has made learning feel more accessible and less frustrating. They especially love using them during activities where they can annotate stories, complete graphic organizers, or respond creatively to what they read.\r\n\r\nI have also seen particular growth with students who sometimes struggle to stay engaged, including Emergent Bilingual students and students who receive special education support. The stylus allows them to slow down, interact with the text, and express their understanding in ways beyond just typing. Some students who were hesitant to participate before are now more willing to attempt assignments because the tool makes the work feel more manageable and interactive.\r\n\r\nThis project has helped create a more inclusive classroom where all students have the tools they need to succeed. Your support is not just providing supplies — it is helping build confidence, increase engagement, and give students new ways to experience success in learning. Thank you for investing in my students and their future.","fullyFundedDate":1764730704533,"projectUrl":"project/helping-students-work-smarter-on-chromeb/9730326/","projectTitle":"Helping Students Work Smarter on Chromebooks","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Roman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9131955_orig.jpg?crop=720,720,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693090301845","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9131955"},{"teacherId":9131955,"projectId":9232857,"letterContent":"The tables have already made a big impact. The round tables made it natural for everyone to contribute, and I noticed even some of my quieter students joining in more confidently.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these tables will continue to support collaborative lessons, like peer editing in writing, group discussions in reading, and problem-solving tasks in math. They've truly transformed our classroom into a space that encourages teamwork and shared learning.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create a classroom environment where students feel comfortable working together and building skills that will last a lifetime!","fullyFundedDate":1746786424375,"projectUrl":"project/building-strong-foundations-tables-for/9232857/","projectTitle":"Building Strong Foundations: Tables for Engaged Readers & Writers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Roman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9131955_orig.jpg?crop=720,720,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693090301845","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9131955"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12920","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1028,"numTeachers":50,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":89,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"20.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":60.0,"schoolId":12920,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cedar Creek Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cedar Creek Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/bastrop-independent-school-district/cedar-creek-middle-school/12920"}
