These folders were used in our 7th-grade vocabulary program to create personalized \"vocabulary pockets\" for each student, a tool that has proven invaluable in making language learning both engaging and impactful.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has played a crucial role in helping our students develop a more dynamic vocabulary. By utilizing the pocket folders, we were able to give each student their own space to organize and track the new words they encounter throughout the year. This hands-on approach has made learning new vocabulary not only more interactive but also personal. Students are now able to reflect on and connect with words in a way that feels meaningful to them, allowing them to see how vocabulary can enrich their daily lives.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your thoughtful contribution.","fullyFundedDate":1734738481831,"projectUrl":"project/vocabulary-pockets/8973462/","projectTitle":"Vocabulary Pockets","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Eimer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9593958"},{"teacherId":9593958,"projectId":8976240,"letterContent":"I wanted to thank you for your generous donation of board games to our classroom. Your contribution has had a truly remarkable impact on the students, and I wanted to share just a few of the ways it has enriched their experience.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment we began incorporating the board games into our classroom activities, I witnessed an incredible transformation. Not only did the students learn about skills content, but they also learned so much about each other. The games provided a unique opportunity for students to collaborate, communicate, and build stronger relationships within our classroom community. It has been heartwarming to see them connect in ways that might not have happened otherwise, with students who wouldn't typically engage with each other laughing, strategizing, and enjoying one another's company.\r\n\r\nBeyond the connection, the board games taught essential life skills that will benefit the students for years to come. They gained invaluable lessons in respect, patience, and strategic thinking as they navigated their way through each game. They were able to learn how to think critically, collaborate as a team, and be mindful of their actions and words—skills that will serve them well both inside and outside of the classroom.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you for your incredible generosity. Your contribution has made a significant difference in the lives of my students, and I am so grateful for your support. This initiative has been a huge success, and I can't wait to see how the games continue to impact our classroom community in the future.","fullyFundedDate":1733171159332,"projectUrl":"project/learning-through-laughter/8976240/","projectTitle":"Learning Through Laughter","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Eimer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9593958"},{"teacherId":8428438,"projectId":8871882,"letterContent":"Many thanks again for funding the mic and speaker set. Your support has made a tremendous impact on our students' reading experience.\r\n\r\nThe students have enjoyed exploring the diverse genres and captivating stories within the different book series. This collection of books not only enhances their appreciation for literature but also encourages them to discover new titles that they might not have picked up otherwise. It has been fun to see them requesting one of the novels that has already been selected by another student. This is the first time I have ever had a waiting-list for books! I cannot describe the joy that comes from seeing children excited about a new novel in their hands. It is an extra bonus that they are not on a digital device and that they get to feel the pages turning. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and support. To a long-term self-funded program like ours, a big boost is always one that makes an immediate impact. \r\nPart of our goal this year is to turn an old soccer field (covered with cobblestone and a thick layer of clay) into a working garden. We have the manpower in hndreds of students, but not nearly enough tools for a single class. The addition of the spading forks and hoses was instantly helpful, as we were finally able to get everyone on the task at the same time, diggin and softening the poor soil, allowing aeration, and loosening it up for further amendments.\r\n With the power drills, students got to work assembling a boardwalk and are setting plans for a future chicken coop, using supplies you gave us. The hardware cloth will be the perfect screen to keep our chicks away from predators, and the mini-fridge has come in handy already in this heat to keep eggs from spoiling.\r\n Hauling soil and mulch in our sad old, mostly broken wheelbarrows and since become a jiffy with these awesome large ones that roll so easily. Instant use for all these things. You guys have allowed our program to catch up with the needs of all our students.","fullyFundedDate":1726845435312,"projectUrl":"project/green-academy-garden-updates/8795536/","projectTitle":"Green Academy Garden Updates","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Jeansonne","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp103759_orig.jpg?crop=4000,4000,x0,y66&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733414935522","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/103759"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_9046","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1260,"numTeachers":77,"percentFrplEligible":28,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":46,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":41,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"16.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":86.6,"schoolId":9046,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Small Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Small Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/austin-independent-school-district/small-middle-school/9046"}
