As an elective, my classroom does not always get as much love as the core teachers. Additionally, our school is so overcrowded that I teach in a hallway, and so the combination of things means that on Meet the Teacher Night, parents and guardians are a bit confused about what school supplies I need to last the year. These supplies, in whole or in part, will allow us to keep creating all year long. We regularly use the note cards to practice speaking in pairs or groups. Pencils, erasers, and a good pencil sharpener will mean that students are never without a writing utensil to copy vocabulary words, and can keep learning without interruption. It will also help me as a teacher, because I will be fully stocked for water spills and runny noses, and I will not have to make runs to Target during my lunch hour during flu season.
