Receiving these books is not only a gift of pages and words, but a gift of imagination, empathy, and discovery that will leave a lasting mark on my students' educational journey.\r\n\r\nThird grade is a pivotal year where children move from \"learning to read\" to \"reading to learn.\" Having a shared text allows us to grow together as readers, thinkers, and friends. The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane invites students to reflect on themes of love, loss, resilience, and transformation in ways that are meaningful and accessible to their own lives. As we read together, my students will have the chance to build comprehension skills, practice critical discussion, and connect emotionally with Edward's journey—ultimately building both literacy and character.\r\n\r\nThe impact of this donation reaches far beyond the pages of the book. For many of my students, this may be the first time they own and experience a high-quality novel as part of a community of readers. Holding their own copy gives them pride and a sense of belonging in our classroom. It empowers them to take ownership of their learning and deepens their joy in reading.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping to create this opportunity. Your generosity will spark conversations, inspire writing, and plant seeds of empathy that will grow long after the last page is turned. You have truly made a difference in our classroom, and we are so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1747875493682,"projectUrl":"project/a-miraculous-book-to-build-a-love-for-re/9370730/","projectTitle":"A Miraculous Book to Build a Love for Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wilson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10040764_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747794654484","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10040764"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_9264","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":731,"numTeachers":49,"percentFrplEligible":59,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":14,"percentWhite":39,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":33,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"14.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":84.2,"schoolId":9264,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wood Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wood Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/arlington-independent-school-district/wood-elementary-school/9264"}
