Classrooms are changing for the 21st century learners! More focus is on group activities, teamwork and choice...that includes seating options. I teach in a classroom with 9 year old students who need to be actively engaged and stimulated for optimal learning. By offering a variety of seating choices such as, yoga ball seats, bouncy bands for desk legs, and balance ball rolling stools my students will be able to choose a work station that best meets their learning style. Goodbye desks in rows, Hello flexible seating! I truly believe a classroom filled with yoga balls, bouncy bands and balance ball rolling stools will inspire my learners while proving the extra bonus of improving core strength, posture, and burning excess energy without disturbing others. All of these seating options keep the students body actively engaged which is also linked to higher academic performance. A win win for all! This project will be a great start to establishing my 21st century classroom.
