We began the year with 24 students, but grew to 32 when budget issues caused one of our kindergarten teachers to be transferred to another school and the two remaining classes inherited 8 new students. We needed additional supplies, like these chair pockets, in a hurry! \r\nThe chair pockets help us to keep things more organized. That is often difficult for a kindergartener and really an issue with 32! We are able to keep our workbooks and materials at our seats, which helps with transition times and limits a lot of extra movement in a really confined area.\r\nYour generosity truly makes a difference in the lives of children. Numbers, shapes, counting, adding, and subtracting are just some of the skills that we will learn this year. We have to build that strong foundation so that my students will not have gaps in their learning and to help minimize difficulties later.\r\nMy children love books and enjoy listening to stories. They really engage in the stories and like to discuss what they have learned. The books from this project will be read to whole group and small groups to introduce new mathematical concepts and to help us make connections with our learning. I also love using stories because we can reread them to help clarify misconceptions or to remind us of what we have learned.\r\nThank you for donating to this project and for being part of my children's educational journey.
