Titles such as Mexikid (in both English and Spanish), Eagle Drums, The Many Assassinations of Samir, the Seller of Dreams, and Elf Dog and Owl Head have sparked meaningful conversations. Mexikid has quickly become the most popular book in the group, with both the English and Spanish editions consistently checked out, demonstrating a strong desire for stories that reflect students' backgrounds and offer access in multiple languages.\r\n\r\nBecause of this project, reading has become more visible, more inclusive, and more exciting in our school. These titles have validated our bilingual and Spanish-speaking students by allowing them to see themselves reflected in the collection and read for enjoyment in their home language. Frizzy, in both English and Spanish, has quickly become one of the most requested books in our library, sparking conversations about identity, friendship, and self-acceptance across grade levels.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the addition of a title from the Click series has resonated strongly with many of our girls, fostering discussions about emotions, relationships, and belonging. With your funds, you helped us to purchase 10 collapsible hammocks, 2 large outdoor storage boxes, 2 umbrellas with stands, and 2 locks for the storage boxes! The assembling of storage boxes and umbrellas was completed by the students which involved them following specific instructions, collaborating with their classmates, and utilizing tools to complete the projects. They loved being able to help prepare these for their peers, and they did an amazing job doing so! They were eager to be able to use the tools and to study the instructions to make sure everything was put together correctly. They took ownership of the projects and were proud of their final product. \r\n\r\n Students have begun utilizing the hammocks and they love how calming and relaxing the space is. We have had great class discussions while students sit in the hammocks! They also really enjoy the hands-on task of putting together and taking down the hammocks.
