Being able to physically touch, move, and organize the pieces makes abstract numbers feel concrete and accessible for these young learners.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, our next steps will be expanding on these foundational skills—using the toolkits to practice subitizing, comparing quantities, and moving toward simple addition concepts. Students had so much fun creating their towels. They had just as much fun using them on water day and even shared memories from making them. I loved seeing the excitement in the students as they were tie dying their towels as well as the reveal of them once they were finished and ready to use. Students had a blast with the new equipment and learning to play disc golf throughout a week long unit.
