Finale software in the band classroom opens up a whole new realm of musical instruction. As directors, we are constantly thinking of new ways to tailor instruction to the specific needs of our students, and every student, class, and instrument has different needs that we need to meet. Finale will help bridge this gap and will supply us a whole new avenue to differentiate instruction within the classroom. Young musicians benefit greatly from instruction designed specifically for their needs. These customized exercises, etudes, and playing assignments written with finale will help students of all ability levels all throughout our band program. We will be able to focus on specific skills one section may need while refining the skills of the entire ensemble at once. In band, everyone is working towards the same goal, and Finale notation software will bring us one step closer to our goal.
