The band earns consistent Superior ratings, and its members are active in South Carolina Band and countless summer band programs. Scholars also learned how to help safely rescue others so that they are less likely to be pulled in.\r\nOn the final day of the course, I was able to watch scholars that did not know how to swim on Day 1 confidently swim across the deep end of the pool! Instead of simply telling students which buttons to push or trying to describe what they should see, I can model each step on the screen while they follow along on their own calculators. This has made learning new calculator skills much easier and has helped students become more confident and independent.\r\n\r\nThe calculators themselves are also a huge benefit because every student can participate, even if they do not own a calculator or forget to bring one to class. Students have been excited to explore graphs, work with data, and discover how much these tools can help them understand the mathematics we are learning.\r\n\r\nI have especially enjoyed seeing some of my less confident math students become more willing to try.
