Th journals, tweezers, and camera have been a great addition to our classroom. \r\nThe journals provide a way for me to teach my students how to write. The design gives them a space to write as well as a space to illustrate. They look forward to using them each day. \r\nI've used the tweezers in several different ways during station and exploratory time. They increase my students' fine motor abilities and are a fun way to indirectly improve handwriting skills. \r\nWe haven't yet started using the camera but I intend to in the upcoming weeks. This project focused on giving my kindergartners the opportunity to listen to books independently without looking at a screen. \r\nThe portable CD players as well as the boom box have served as independent devices for my students to follow along in a book as well as listen to it read aloud on tape or CD. I've been teaching a long time and this model used to be the norm but has gone out of style with the advent of technology in the form of screens. I believe my 5 year olds have too much screen time already and wanted to prioritize having a book on their hands, not a screen.
