Some students had their own, some borrowed from friends, and others attempted to work through complex calculations without one. This created unnecessary stress and sometimes prevented students from fully engaging in the lesson. Now, every student has equal access to the same tool at the same time. That simple change has strengthened both equity and confidence in our classroom.\r\n\r\nIn chemistry, students are constantly interpreting data, analyzing patterns, and solving multistep quantitative problems. With reliable calculators available to everyone, students can focus their mental energy on understanding concepts rather than struggling through arithmetic. This has improved class discussions, increased participation, and allowed us to move more smoothly through instruction without interruptions.\r\n\r\nIt has also improved assessment accuracy. Because all students are using the same type of calculator, I can more clearly measure their understanding of the content rather than their access to resources. This helps me better support students who need additional practice or intervention.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your support sends a powerful message to my students. It shows them that people beyond our school community believe in their education and are willing to invest in their success.
