I love seeing their eyes light up when they learn that there are people out there that don't even know them personally that want to help them succeed. They loved being surprised when they were able to get a fancy pencil from the dispenser when they've earned a chance to choose one. They really felt that using the page protectors were helpful in their learning because they can use them over and over to practice skills. Students will get use of many of the items in this project for years. The new book bins are colorful and sturdy enough to hold all of their reading books. It allows me to also group students according to their book bucket colors!\r\nWe also have enough dry erase markers to last us more than a year, and that's really helpful when they run dry and we can replace them right away. The clipboards work great when students need to come to the rug to do work on their lap when in small groups. And lastly, the incentives of earning coins to have extra time at the end of the week to have Play-Doh time is something the students are loving. \r\nRipple also matched some of the funding for this project which made it get fully funded quickly. The project getting funded that quickly led to the students having these items earlier in the year than expected so that they could be incorporated into their learning. When students know that their teacher cares enough about their education to look to get items for the classroom that will be useful and assist them to have a successful year, it motivates students to be more invested in their learning.
