By donating money for my classroom snacks, you have not only given students the physical gift of sustenance - you have given them the emotional gift of consistency and reliability. When student walked in to find a new \"snack cart\" full of favorites and inclusive, healthier options, they felt shy. Many students asked multiple times if it was okay to grab a snack. After a few days, students entered with a smile, knowing that they could pick a snack (or two) from the shelves. When the supplies began to run low, some students even offered to bring in their own snacks to keep the goodwill going. At the end of every week, it was an absolute joy to replenish the shelves, knowing that there were many more smiles and success stories to follow.\r\n\r\nStudents understand that this project is a physical manifestation of others rooting them on to succeed. For many of our scholars, this concept can feel foreign. Many of these children face food insecurity and sacrifice. Seeing them warm up to the idea that they can grab a snack for themselves and/or a sibling or friend has built a momentum and trust that extends well beyond the Takis ; ) \r\n\r\nI am deeply grateful and entirely humbled that you chose to give to my project. Because of you, kids stayed after school for activities instead of walking to a gas station for snacks in this winter's frigid temperatures. Because of your gift, students learned that their lives are worth our time. Your generosity highlights the \"village\" they have behind them, wishing and working alongside their successes. Your kindness has created a lasting impression that students will remember long beyond their time in Woodland Hills.","fullyFundedDate":1738796704485,"projectUrl":"project/energy-for-future-engineers/9079125/","projectTitle":"Energy for Future Engineers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Andrews","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8850704_orig.jpg?crop=1284,1284,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1674598084799","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8850704"},{"teacherId":7057460,"projectId":8857246,"letterContent":"Thank you for the kind donations.
