So far we have talked about our financial mindset and why that's important for our futures. We have created vision boards and done a gallery walk to see everyone's visions boards. We also wrote a letter to our 25 year old self about our ideal life and our financial goals. \r\n\r\nThe students have enjoyed all of these activities and their creativity has been great to see in a Math classroom. We are currently working on a budget project and we're getting deeper into the numbers, but with your help, we are able to supplement with activities when I see that there are some gaps in knowledge.\r\n\r\nMany of the students I teacher don't have adults at home having these conversations with them, so this new curriculum is allowing us to have rich conversations around everything involved in personal finance. The students have already begun taking advantage of all of the amazing materials we were gifted. The students are using the foil star stickers to track their course completion progress on incentive posters. They get so excited when it's time to put up another star for achieving their next percentage level! The students especially enjoy being rewarded for every 25% of their course they complete with a prize of their choice. They are always asking me to check their percentages so they can put up their stars and earn their snacks. They love the hot chips, cookies, fruit snacks, as well as non-food items like the mechanical pencils. The corded headphones are available for student use should they forget their earbuds for the day. Because we funded this project so quickly I was able to use it right away as my middle school students were in the middle of making \"Propaganda Posters\". \r\n\r\nHaving the light pads available helped to ease students anxiety level about meeting due dates! I honestly regret not requesting another additional larger light pad. I use this project as a cross curricula opportunity with our Visual Arts class. The light pads were so light weight it was easy to transport them between classes for students. \r\n\r\nMy next assignment coming up will be a front page of newspaper where students will touch on highlights and headlines of the Vietnam War. I am excited to introduce the light pads to my high school students. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your support.
