My students were so excited to receive them! But when they found out one was portable and sharpened pencils automatically without needing to hold the pencil, they were ecstatic. \r\n\r\nBefore we had the new sharpeners, the students had to wait in line by the wall and lost valuable work time. Now we have working sharpeners in a few spots in the room along with the portable sharpener that gets passed from table to table without disrupting the flow of learning. \r\n\r\nThe new portable sharpener also sharpens colored pencils. This year my students can do more projects with colored pencils. It's not only a collaborative center, but the bubbles are also being used as an independent space. \r\nSince the children are small, often times two students can sit on one bubble.
