You've done it again—you truly made our month!\r\n\r\nThe outdoor learning supplies arrived just in time for our VIP (Very Important Person) Day, a special event designed to encourage families to spend meaningful time with their preschoolers at school. With 17 preschoolers, 17 family members, and 2 staff members, our tiny classroom simply could not hold everyone. Thanks to the wonderful outdoor materials provided through PNC Grow Up Great, we were able to take the celebration outside—and it turned into an unforgettable day.\r\n\r\nFamily members helped children learn to walk on stilts and joined them in potato sack races. There were no winners or losers—just laughter, smiles, and fun. Seeing grown adults hopping around in tiny potato sacks had everyone laughing. It was a wonderful lesson that joy comes from participating together, not from winning.\r\n\r\nOur youngest learners especially loved the bubble shaker maracas. The no-spill design was perfect for little hands. Some children joyfully shook the maracas while others delighted in blowing bubbles. Families and children also tackled obstacle courses with the hoops, creating opportunities for movement, teamwork, and lots of smiles. By the end, everyone was out of breath, happy, and enjoying quality time together outdoors. It was a beautiful sight, and I think PNC would have been proud to see it.\r\n\r\nThe learning continued long after VIP Day. We took stories such as Bug in a Jug and Hey, Little Ant outside and transformed reading into an interactive experience. Armed with our bug nets and observation containers, the children regularly explored nature, searching for butterflies, ants, and other insects. These materials added an entirely new dimension to our outdoor time, turning it into a true learning environment rather than simply a place to run and play. The result was a calmer, more engaging, and meaningful experience for everyone.\r\n\r\nAfter reading Hey, Little Ant and The Big Block of Chocolate, the children became fascinated with ants. Instead of reacting with fear or wanting to squish them, they observed them with curiosity and respect. We carefully placed a few ants in the observation container for a closer look before returning them safely to their homes. What a remarkable change! The children learned about the natural world, developed empathy, and discovered similarities between ants and people.\r\n\r\nWe also enjoyed a very special butterfly release day. I wish you could have seen the amazement on the children's faces as the butterflies took flight. Their questions filled the air: \"Where are they going?\" \"Will they land on us?\" \"Will they have a family?\" \"How high will they fly?\" \"Will they come back?\" \"What will they eat?\" Those moments of wonder, curiosity, and discovery are exactly what learning is all about.\r\n\r\nThank you, PNC Grow Up Great, for making these experiences possible. You have given 17 preschoolers memories they will carry with them for years to come. Even better, future classes will continue to benefit from these wonderful materials and the countless learning adventures they inspire.\r\n\r\nFrom all of us, thank you for investing in our children, their families, and their love of learning. We are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1777652827722,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-students-experience-the-joy-of/10191772/","projectTitle":"Help Our Students Experience the Joy of Outdoor Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kristie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7622266_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1772067578214","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7622266"},{"teacherId":7622266,"projectId":10189970,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for providing my classroom with a Toniebox. It has become a wonderful addition to our daily routine and offers my students a fun, engaging way to enjoy stories and songs without relying on screens.\r\n\r\nOne of the things I appreciate most is how portable and easy to use it is. Because there are no wires or plugs to worry about, I can easily take it with us wherever we go. We use it both inside and outside the classroom, allowing students to listen to stories and music while using their imaginations and interacting with one another. The excitement on their faces whenever a new character is introduced is truly priceless.\r\nThe Toniebox has also become an invaluable tool during transitions throughout our day. Whether we are waiting to use the restroom, cleaning up, or preparing for another activity, I can simply pick it up and bring it with us. It helps keep students engaged, calm, and focused during times that can otherwise be challenging.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite uses for the Toniebox is during naptime. The few students who do not typically fall asleep gather quietly around it to listen to stories together. It gives them an opportunity to relax, use their imaginations, and bond with their peers in a peaceful and meaningful way. When children are happily engaged and genuinely interested in what they are doing, it creates a more positive learning environment for everyone.\r\n\r\nI was especially touched by how much the students enjoyed the dog character featuring classic preschool songs such as \"The Wheels on the Bus.\" Instead of watching a screen, we sat together in a circle, facing one another, singing, using hand motions, and sharing the experience. It encouraged eye contact, participation, and social interaction while creating a calmer and more connected classroom atmosphere. Experiences like these remind me how important imaginative, screen-free learning opportunities are for young children.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the Toniebox supports the development of critical social and emotional skills. It encourages children to engage with one another, practice listening, use their imaginations, and build meaningful connections with their peers. In a world where screens are increasingly common, providing opportunities for children to interact face-to-face is incredibly valuable.\r\n\r\nI am especially grateful for generous and kind-hearted people like you who care about supporting teachers and enriching the lives of young children. Your gift will have a lasting impact not only on this year's students, but on many classes to come. I look forward to using the Toniebox year after year and continuing to add new characters and stories that will inspire future students.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity, thoughtfulness, and commitment to helping children learn, grow, and imagine.","fullyFundedDate":1776173034568,"projectUrl":"project/toniebox-for-a-screen-free-science-stor/10189970/","projectTitle":"Toniebox for a Screen Free Science Stories","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kristie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7622266_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1772067578214","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7622266"},{"teacherId":7622266,"projectId":10186968,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation and support of my classroom. Your kindness has truly made a difference, not only for me as a teacher, but for each of my 17 preschool students as well. Every item has helped create a more organized, functional, safe, and welcoming learning environment, and I am incredibly grateful.\r\n\r\nThe spice rack has worked perfectly as a charging station. It attaches securely to a magnetic board, keeping everything safely out of reach of the children while still being easily accessible for me. I use the paper towel holder to hang the headphones, and the magnetic clips help keep cords neat, untangled, and safely tucked away. The shelves now store our night lights for nap time, providing just enough comfort and light for the students who enjoy coloring quietly while others rest. The magnetic file holder has also become the perfect storage space for our iPads, keeping them organized and safely out of students' reach until needed.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest improvements has been how quickly and smoothly I can now transition students during the day. For the few children who do not nap, I can easily access the iPads and headphones and distribute them right away. While many teachers prefer wireless headphones, I truly appreciate the simplicity of the small corded ones. They store neatly, plug in instantly, and eliminate the hassle of pairing devices or reconnecting to Wi-Fi, saving valuable classroom time.\r\n\r\nThe multi-strip outlets were absolutely necessary for all of our rechargeable items, but they often created clutter and were not visually appealing. The cable management box has made such a difference by safely hiding the cords and outlets, creating a cleaner, safer, and more organized classroom environment for preschoolers.\r\n\r\nThe students especially love their chair pockets. They proudly store their personal dry erase boards, worksheets, crayons, markers, and other small belongings inside them. This has made our classroom routines much more efficient because students can independently access their materials after meals with minimal transitions, allowing for more focused and meaningful learning time.\r\n\r\nThe \"big desk\" has also become a favorite space in our classroom. It now serves as a writing table, with supplies conveniently stored in the drawers to save space and stay organized. On special days, students enjoy sitting there together while using the iPads, which makes learning feel extra exciting and engaging.\r\n\r\nAs you may know, preschool classrooms can sometimes become overwhelming, especially for children who are sensitive to noise. The noise-canceling headphones have been incredibly beneficial for students who need a quiet moment when emotions run high. Some children even choose to wear them while drawing or working quietly because it helps them feel calm and focused.\r\n\r\nAll of these materials have truly helped transform our classroom into a more functional, organized, and student-centered space. They have made my daily routines easier and more efficient, while also helping my students feel more comfortable, independent, and engaged. Even though the children may not always be able to fully express their gratitude, I can see how much they value and enjoy these materials through their excitement and constant use of them each day.\r\n\r\nPlease know that your generosity is deeply appreciated. What may have seemed like small or simple items have had a tremendous impact on our classroom and on the educational experience of 17 young children. Your kindness will continue to benefit not only this group of students, but many classes in the years to come.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting my little room and for investing in the growth, comfort, and learning of my students. To being our classroom is small and most sensory stimulating items can be quite large. However, having these few smaller items have made a difference for our students who need help redirecting their energy and/or allowing them opportunities to self-stimulate and recenter their bodies during the busy school day.\r\nAt first our students were not sure of the new items but once they understood how to use them and the calming effect it offered them the items quickly became a classroom favorite. The bands on the chairs have helped calm those busy feet and cut down the amount of kicking that happens under the table. Students love bouncing their feet on them and stretching them out. \r\nThe balance boards are slowly becoming a new option for calming. At four years old it can be difficult to understand how to balance while standing on a rounded object so we are still figuring out this skill but sitting and rocking is providing our students with stimulation that is much needed, much like the swivel seat. Being able to rock side to side is very satisfying in our classroom this year.\r\nThese options would not have been made available without your generosity and kindness. Families entrust us with their children's very first educational experience, and your donation helps us create an environment that is not only focused on learning, but also safe, healthy, nurturing, and welcoming.\r\n\r\nThe items you provided are making a meaningful difference in our daily routines. Even small touches—like the colorful bandages—have had a big emotional impact. What might seem simple has helped comfort students and ease tears, turning moments of distress into opportunities for reassurance and even pride.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has also greatly supported our efforts in promoting independence and hygiene. The step stools and storage solutions have made potty training more manageable and sanitary, while giving students a sense of confidence as they take care of their own needs. The automatic, hands-free trash can has been an unexpected highlight—students are fascinated by what they call the \"magic\" lid, and it has actually encouraged them to take initiative in cleaning up after themselves.\r\n\r\nOne student, in particular, has benefited tremendously from the potty watch. It has empowered her to recognize her own needs and take ownership of her routine, building both independence and self-confidence.\r\n\r\nNaptime has also been transformed into a calmer, more soothing experience. The bubble lamp creates a peaceful atmosphere that helps students relax and settle in. Its gentle color changes are captivating, and it has even provided a quiet, comforting activity for students who do not sleep, allowing them to rest without disturbing others. The canvas tote bags have further supported independence, making it easier for students to manage and store their belongings.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the dental care materials have allowed us to introduce important lessons about healthy habits. Using the model teeth and timer, students are learning proper brushing techniques in a hands-on, engaging way—an experience they thoroughly enjoyed and will carry with them beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our classroom is not only more organized and sanitary, but also more supportive of each child's growth, independence, and well-being. As students measure, pour, and experiment, they are not only exploring concepts like volume and gravity, but also developing important social skills such as sharing, cooperating, and problem-solving. By rotating in additional sensory materials like beans and rice, we've been able to extend their curiosity and keep their exploration fresh and engaging.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic tiles have also sparked incredible enthusiasm. Students eagerly gather to build, create, and experiment—especially with the light-up pieces, which add an extra layer of excitement. While some of the building challenges are just beyond their comfort level, that's exactly what makes the experience so valuable—it encourages critical thinking, perseverance, and creativity. Our youngest learners especially enjoy using the magnetic tile cars, testing how high they can build before their structures tumble, turning each moment into a fun and meaningful learning opportunity.\r\n\r\nThe LCD tablets have become another essential tool in our classroom. They provide a fun, low-pressure way for students to practice writing, draw, and express their ideas. Their versatility allows us to incorporate them into our daily routine in a variety of ways, making learning both engaging and accessible for all students.\r\n\r\nAs we welcome the beginning of spring, we are excited to extend our science learning even further. Soon, we will be observing caterpillars in our classroom, giving students a firsthand opportunity to learn about life cycles, growth, and change. Watching the transformation and eventually releasing the butterflies will be a truly memorable and meaningful experience for them.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, learning in our classroom is not only educational, but joyful, engaging, and inspiring. Items like the dry erase boards and markers, and pencil sharpener are in constant use, supporting hands-on learning and helping my students stay engaged throughout the day. It's amazing how these everyday tools make such a meaningful difference in building skills and confidence.\r\n\r\nSome of the items have brought so much joy and comfort to the classroom. The astronaut projector, for example, has become a favorite—my students love quietly gazing at the stars on the ceiling, and it creates such a peaceful, calming atmosphere for rest time. And the pink paint? Let's just say it's a class favorite—especially for my girls, who would happily paint the entire room pink if they could!\r\n\r\nI've also seen wonderful growth in independence thanks to tools like the squeezer scissors, which are perfect for my youngest learners as they build confidence in their abilities. As a teacher, I especially appreciate the jumbo magnetic ten frame. Because it's so easy for everyone to see, it's helping my students begin to understand numbers and sets of ten in a clear, hands-on way. The communication center /art shelf has also made a big difference in keeping our space organized, which helps create a calm, productive, and happy learning environment for everyone.\r\n\r\nWhile these items may seem simple, they each play an important role in our classroom community. The Learning Locks have also become a favorite—students take turns matching keys and locks, and their faces light up with pride and joy when they successfully open one.\r\nThe ice cream set is another beloved activity. It allows for both structured learning and imaginative play. I often engage students by asking for specific \"letter\" scoops, encouraging letter recognition, matching, and even partner activities. Of course, sometimes they simply enjoy playing with them—and honestly, what child doesn't love ice cream?\r\n\r\nThe Alphabet Tubs and Jumbo Magnetic Letters have been incredibly effective in strengthening letter recognition and phonemic awareness. The tubs capture students' curiosity with the small objects inside, and I challenge them to sort mixed items back into the correct groups. During our morning routine, I use the jumbo letters so all students can participate—together we identify the letter, its sound, and a corresponding word. For younger students, we reinforce learning with visual supports at their tables, while older students are beginning to blend sounds into simple words. I'm thrilled to share that a few students are already starting to read!\r\n\r\nWe are also very excited about the art easel, which the students frequently ask about. It may seem like a small thing, but in a classroom with no windows, it can get very dark—now they can actually see what they're working on, and that has made such a difference.\r\n\r\nThe Travel Glow Art Studio has been a huge hit!
