Having flexible seating options and added classroom materials will allow us to grow in our classroom with fewer limitations! Our classroom community consists of two different classes including 39 students around the ages of 8 and 9. The students are incredibly enthusiastic and willing to learn when they arrive at school. This year has faced many challenges bringing the students back to the building in-person, compared to virtual learning last year. Students use numerous materials in the classroom throughout their learning, and after years of continued use, these materials often break and need to be replaced. We currently have regular metal chairs in our classroom, as the flexible metal stools I had purchased a few years ago have fallen apart from much use. The flexible seating stools I have requested on DonorsChoose have proven to make a huge difference in student focus and learning ability. The wobble seats allow students to find subtle movement without distracting classmates all while remaining focused and participating. I've seen a difference in learning from a handful of students when permitted to a form of flexible seating to help them have a more successful day in class. As for the fidget materials and dry erase blocks, these items are also a "hot commodity" in a third-grade classroom. We have a classroom prize bin that students get excited to visit for STAR behavior - These fidget items are perfect for the prize bin. Students can use the pop-its, Rubix Cubes, and all of the other great fidget toys to keep their minds busy while learning new content! I greatly appreciate any support for our third-grade classroom. This group of hard-working, passionate, and positive young minds would be ecstatic to have some new classroom additions! Thank you
