We recently used them during our math small-group rotations, and it completely transformed the way they approached missing-addend story problems. One of my favorite moments was watching a student who normally feels unsure proudly explain her thinking using the new manipulatives. The hands-on materials helped her see the math in a way that finally clicked.\r\n\r\nTheir reactions were priceless—several students gasped when they saw the bright, colorful cards and new tools laid out on the table. Many asked, \"Are we using these today?!\" before the morning announcements even finished. They've already started taking more ownership of their learning, eagerly choosing materials that help them understand numbers 1–10 and build confidence with addition and subtraction.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're using these resources to support a multi-week number sense project. Students will move from solving simple story problems to creating their own, complete with illustrations and manipulatives to model their math thinking. Thanks to your generosity, I was able to transform the space into one that is bright, warm, and truly inviting for all 50 of my students.\r\n\r\nThe new supplies helped me build not only an organized learning environment but also a calm corner with comfortable seating where students can decompress, reset, and return to learning with focus. This space has quickly become one of the most loved features of our classroom. Many of my students have shared that it makes them feel cared for and gives them the support they need to succeed.\r\n\r\nOur classroom now feels alive with anchor charts, posters, and colorful supplies, making lessons interactive and engaging. I have even been lauded by my administration and veteran teachers for how inviting and supportive our classroom feels.\r\n\r\nI look forward to continuing to use our new materials to strengthen collaboration and learning. Students have been loving the new rug and utilizing it in many ways. When they first saw the rug, news spread fast, students were peaking in the door to look at it, and even stopping in on a bathroom break to sit, lay, and roll around on it. They love its bright colors and soft texture! I could sense students were immediately welcomed by it's bright colors, and felt comfort from the addition to our room. \r\n\r\nStudents now have space to view art demonstrations all together in the front of the room. This rug is part of the entering classroom routine for Grades K-2 and 4-5 - we start every class together on this carpet viewing new artwork and techniques. The rug also offers flexible seating options for students who want to work independently from the large group tables. For example, I have two fourth grade students who opt for this location nearly every class! They sit on the rug with small fold-out tables comfortably near the art example on the board.
