I teach the most amazing, resourceful and resilient bunch of kindergartners in west Philadelphia. 25 five and six year olds enter my classroom everyday with an internal fire blazing with eagerness to learn. A typical day in our classroom consists of math, science, reading, writing, and global studies. Our classroom is very "centers" oriented where the children have the opportunity to work on various skills based on their individual ability. My classroom has a unique mix of scholars who represents a variety of economic statuses, academic, physical, and social needs. Our school is a title one school that provides breakfast and lunch to over 90% of the school. In any classroom, kindergarten especially, routines organization and stability are key aspects of classroom management. My goal is to continuously provide a safe and nurturing environment for my scholars. A place where they feel a sense of belonging and loved.
