The items were a welcome change from the traditional \"primary\" rugs they have used since preschool. These items contribute to a calm and cohesive feeling in the classroom.\r\n The two new rugs give students more options for independent and group work. They allow for students to spread out and find quiet areas of the room. The beanbag chair has a variety of purposes, such as a cozy place to read, or a place to regroup when needed. Each student has identified an item/tool that helps them to calm down and they have learned to independently use these tools to help with self-regulation before a problem occurs. They enjoy using the cushions and weighted lap pads, which help them to focus during instruction and independent work time. They are all able to choose calming sensory-based activities, such as coloring and visually stimulating tools. \r\n\r\nWe have also incorporated yoga and meditation during our Mindfulness time, and the new yoga mats have made this experience even better. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generosity.
