My kids would be able to participate in an amazing hands-on learning experience this school year. It would be where they write stories, paint pictures, go on expeditions, read books, and build thingy with the many Manipulatives requested for our classroom. All of our students want and can learn through play. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Most students choose to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: under tables, or sitting or laying on the floor. That's why the mats are needed. I want to make sure all students are comfortable is an important component in motivating them. When the students are given choices, I have noticed the differences in in their seating arrangements. They are more engaged, more focus than when they are sitting at their desk.
