During guided reading, students use the materials to practice decoding strategies, build vocabulary, and apply comprehension skills such as identifying the main idea, sequencing events, and making text connections. When we do our whole-group lesson, it is so nice to have a standing desk so that I can look out at the students to see who is participating and who isn't so I can make sure to engage those who aren't. Before, my back was to them with my old set up and I had to keep turning around. The new dry-erase boards, markers, and erasers were much needed as the other dry-erase boards were hard to erase since they were so old. One meaningful moment was during a close-reading lesson when students used the resources to reread a passage with purpose and confidently explained their thinking using evidence from the text—something many of them struggled with earlier in the year.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were excited and eager to jump right in to using some of it. They immediately noticed how colorful, organized, and student-friendly everything was, and several students asked if they could use the resources \"right now.\" Their excitement quickly turned into engagement as they realized the materials helped make reading feel more accessible and less frustrating. Even reluctant readers showed increased confidence and motivation. The little desk pets are nice incentives to get the students participating. The stress balls help keep students focused while still having some movement.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, the next steps for students include using these resources to deepen comprehension through text-based discussions, written responses, and targeted skill practice. Students are currently working on applying reading strategies independently and in small groups, with a focus on fluency and understanding complex texts. These materials will continue to support differentiated instruction, helping each student grow as a reader while building confidence and a love of learning.","fullyFundedDate":1761360698632,"projectUrl":"project/enhancing-instruction-and-learning-of-en/9497066/","projectTitle":"Enhancing Instruction and Learning of Enhanced Core Reading Instruction","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Weismann","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4731340_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1533508214091","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4731340"},{"teacherId":8009752,"projectId":9704988,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to our Kindness Warrior Club.
