Because of you, our space has become more comfortable, flexible, and student-centered in ways that truly matter. Flexible seating makes it easy for us to quickly shift into collaborative groups, while the lamps have transformed the room into a calmer, more welcoming environment. Wiggle seats are helping students who need movement stay engaged, and having spiral notebooks, folders, and sheet protectors ensures that every student is prepared and organized without the stress of providing their own supplies. Even the sticky notes and snacks have made a bigger impact than you might imagine.\r\n\r\nYour donations are already changing how students learn and interact with one another. I've seen stronger focus during college admissions essay writing, more meaningful participation in AVID tutorials, and smoother collaboration during group work. Students are more willing to take risks, share ideas, and support each other because the classroom feels like a space designed for them. When basic needs—like supplies and even hunger—are met, students can show up as their best selves.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, you've helped us build a stronger sense of community. Students are not just completing assignments; they are learning how to work together, encourage one another, and prepare for life beyond high school. Your support is felt every single day, and it's making a lasting difference in their confidence and growth. Most seem very happy to leave them away and just \"be\" and \"experience\" the classroom and outdoor environment.\r\n\r\nI'm happy to be following guidance from multiple studies and children-focused organizations. From awayfortheday.com: \"According to a research study of American teens ages 12-15, those who used social media over three hours each day faced twice the risk of having negative mental health outcomes, including depression and anxiety symptoms. Teenagers in the United States who spend 3 hours or more a day on electronic devices are at a 35% higher risk of suicide than those who spend less than one hour on them. Eighth graders who are heavy users of social media have a 27% higher risk of depression than kids who exceed the average time playing sports or hanging out with friends.\"\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your contribution to my classroom and supporting students!!","fullyFundedDate":1757799141793,"projectUrl":"project/lets-ditch-the-phones-and-focus-on-scie/9538489/","projectTitle":"Let's Ditch the Phones and Focus on Science!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cole","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8007657"},{"teacherId":2974959,"projectId":9820904,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generosity and support of my amazing students.
