Your donations brought 3 game changers to my room, along with a lot of awesome little bits that help keep the room tidy and clean.\r\n\r\nMaterials in Action:\r\n\r\nClay: Students are using the clay to sculpt elements for their chosen \"world.\" For a biome project, this might be small animals, miniature trees, or topographical features like mountains and rivers. For a civilization project, they might be building tiny replicas of homes or tools. The clay allows for 3D conceptualization and fine motor skill practice.\r\n\r\nNew Markers: The markers are essential for adding vibrant details to background scenes drawn on poster board or for coloring details onto their finished, dried clay pieces. I am so grateful. \r\nThe task shown in the pictures show students thinking about ways to reach 100 using a certain set of criteria. You can see all the students talking and working with each other. Your exceptionally generous donation has really changed how my classes operate. Kids in my classes are ecstatic about the printers (of course), but I also have a number of students who I don't know just come in my room to watch them print and ask about how we turn digital models into real physical things.\r\n\r\n Our first assignment with the printers was making nametags which, unfortunately, I just realized we can't post any pictures of (for anonymity purposes). The printers arrived just as we were wrapping up lessons in Tinkercad (3D modeling / physics simulation software), so the timing was perfect.\r\n\r\n I am currently running my Maker Space classes and the printers have changed how I teach the class. There have been several times where I've run short on supplies and, not only could we just print out what we needed, but it was often better than the original supplies. In the pictures provided, we are in the process of making mousetrap cars. We ran out of wheels and so I had a few students volunteer to design their own and we printed them. I can't express how cool of an asset these are! It really adds a whole new depth to our hands-on projects and is a great motivator for students to find unique solutions to problems.\r\n\r\n Anyway, I can't thank you enough.
