Students were so excited to see all the books coming in and helping find places to put them in our classroom library. Students already were seeing that there were some books that they identified with while others left them wanting to learn more about others. As the school year starts I am feeling so confident that students will be able to find books that they love. My challenge to my freshman English class is for students to try and read 20 books before the end of the school year. With these high interest books I can already see that they are feeling confident to be able to rise to that challenge. \r\n\r\nWe will start each day with 10-15 minuted of quiet reading time and encourage students to try to read at least 20 minutes a day beyond that. My struggling readers are so excited to see the wider range of graphic novels that this grant was able to purchase. I think those titles especially will be a gateway for them to find the books they love! \r\n\r\nBy blending popular hits with rigorous non-fiction, you helped to create a collection that fosters empathy, historical understanding, critical thinking, and a lifelong passion for reading across all genres and reading levels. We know that people are being asked to read and write more and more. Your contribution has had a meaningful and immediate impact on our classroom, and I am truly grateful for your support.\r\n\r\nWe are using these protein snacks during math instruction, especially during longer lessons that require sustained focus, problem-solving, and small-group work. Many of my students experience difficulty maintaining attention or regulating emotions when they are hungry. Having access to healthy protein has helped students remain calmer, more focused, and more engaged in learning. During a recent math lesson involving multi-step problems, students worked for extended periods with noticeably fewer disruptions. Several students even shared that they felt better able to concentrate because they had eaten.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the snacks, their reactions were overwhelmingly positive. They were excited, thankful, and genuinely surprised that people they had never met cared enough to support their learning. For some students, consistent access to healthy food is not always guaranteed, and this project helped them feel seen and supported. It also sparked meaningful conversations about nutrition and how caring for our bodies helps our brains learn more effectively.\r\n\r\nBy contributing to this project, you were able to get a small glimpse into our classroom.
