There are many applications in the real world where students can apply their understanding of electrical conductivity. However, appropriate tools are necessary. If my students had access to the Hanna pH and electrical conductivity meters, they would be able to accurately measure conductivity, discover how it relates to pH, and link the concept of conductivity to batteries. The project my students will explore is a project that incorporates the connection between building batteries- what that can do for the benefit of the environment, and how batteries are dependent on a solution where conductivity is the basis of how things work.
