It is because of you that my students are actively learning their multiplication facts, being challenged with logic puzzles, and staying organized in class. \r\n\r\nEvery day in class my students have about fifteen minutes to practice their multiplication facts. I give them many different ways to practice their facts, but their favorite way is with the multiplication flash cards that you helped fund! They love to get with a partner and quiz each other. I have seen a vast improvement in their math facts since they have been working on them daily! \r\n\r\nI have many gifted students in math who finish work quickly and are often looking for a challenge. The logic puzzle books I was able to purchase (because of you!) are some of my students favorite way to extend their learning and challenge their thinking!\r\n\r\nI have 70 students that move through my classroom throughout the day and thanks to you all, we are able to keep all of their folders and spiral notebooks organized!\r\n\r\nWe really appreciate you all. We are slowly adjusting to a new learning model at my school where the 5th graders are switching classes several times daily to prepare them for middle school. The organization tools you helped to provide have been incredibly helpful for the students and me, and made this transition much smoother. \r\n\r\nThe large black cart and colored turn in bins that were purchased have to be the biggest help in keeping all of our reading materials organized. With around 75 students it has been helpful to color code their items based on their homeroom color. With the money you gifted I was able to purchase an entire year's worth of consumable art supplies. We will be doing an art project each Friday. \r\n\r\nOur first project that we completed was going out to our school garden to draw the sunflowers that we grow. We sketched with pencil and then used oil pastels to color the sunflower drawings. Finally, we used watercolors to fill in the background. \r\n\r\nAnother project we did this year is creating Perler Bead art. Students place the tiny beads on a palate and then we melt them into place. Many children commented on how soothing and satisfying it is to play the rain stick.\r\nThe bass bars sound beautiful and I need to give a special shout out to Suzuki for going above and beyond for us. One of the bars was defective and broke on the first play. I contacted Suzuki and they happily sent a replacement with no delay. They were a pleasure to work with, and I really appreciate their excellent customer service.\r\nAll of these instruments will be played on a daily basis at our school. We will soon begin a drum circle unit, and this djembe will be played daily by over 200 students! Students love learning about different types of drums, how to play them, and where in the world they came from.
