It helps 1st graders stay focused on their work and helps them to be kinder to each other. \r\n\r\nMy kids got so excited when they saw the little capsules containing their little desk pets. They love the fact that there are so many different ones to try and collect. The snacks were a game changer. 1st graders don't have \"snack time\" per se and when they saw that we had snacks they lost their minds. lol. It's quite funny watching 6 year old get excited for Goldfish Crackers. \r\n\r\nThis couldn't have been done without the support from the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies. Thank you for always being such a great champion for all students and teachers. \r\n\r\nIt touches my heart to know that their are good and kind people out there willing to help a complete stranger. My students explored the new titles, and it wasn't long before they began checking them out and diving into stories that sparked their interest. Seeing their enthusiasm reminded me why I submitted this project—to instill a love of reading in every student by providing them with books that resonate with their interests and passions.\r\n\r\nSince adding these books to our library, I've noticed a shift in my students' reading habits. Students who previously struggled to find books they enjoyed are now reading during free time.
